Someone wrote to me- she found a family member in one of the identified pictures! She had never seen the picture before and now has an additional picture of her relative.
ReplyDeleteJody,
ReplyDeleteMy husband is in bed right now, but that roller coaster...isn't that Keansburg? Didn't it just get washed out to sea during Hurricane Sandy? My husband would know :( Rather not wake him right now.
Hi Ramona. I was wondering the same thing when I saw that roller coaster in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Tribute of your Grandfather Clifford's Photography... I see Clifford was a very accomplished Photographer, and the Pride in his work.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandfather's given name was also Clifford, a Fire Fighter So. San Francisco, died in the line of duty15 March 1960, just days before his 57th birthday...I also have used a Pitot Gauge as a Fire Fighter, am a Photographer, and have been Genealogy Researching since 1992 ...it was nice seeing these Pictures your Grandfather had taken...love all the pictures of this Era, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for commenting and I am glad that you enjoy the pictures. Wonderful to be able to share these pictures with everyone.
DeleteI saw at least 3 other photo's that I know are Keansburg. You can clearly see the old elementary school and st anns church in the background. There is also one of the belvedere pool.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes- it would make sense that some of these other photographs are Keansburg. https://familyhistoryresearchbyjody.blogspot.com/2019/12/identifying-location-of-photographs.html
